Primarily focused on the Delegated Authority sector, distriBind allows data to be passed from distribution to capacity in a highly automated manner whether using real-time APIs or more traditional bordereaux.
distriBind was formed in 2018 with the ambition to be the leading Global Delegated Authority solution and has been awarded a grant from Innovate UK for its Machine-Learning Capacity Utilisation Predictor, was runner-up in the 2020 ACORD InsurTech Innovation Challenge, was a member of the Lloyd’s Lab Cohort 6 in 2021, and in 2022 was selected as the only UK start up in Batch 8 of the F10 Global Accelerator. We work with a range of clients from large global insurers to small MGAs.
Job Overview
The Senior Application Architect is responsible for leading the design and build of the Platform Infrastructure across Azure. Working closely with the Development Team you will ensure the distriBind platform is robust, scalable, secure and meets the needs of enterprise clients in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will ensure best-practice in design and coding for fast and accurate processing of large volumes of data in multiple formats.
Reporting to the CEO and working closely alongside the Lead Software Engineer, you will be experienced in designing and implement Azure-hosted .NET Core applications for enterprise customers. You will be familiar with de-coupled back-end / front-end processes and have worked with Containerised apps and App services. You will have experience with both relational and non-relational data structures and ideally knowledge of graph theory and graph databases.
Duties
- Review existing infrastructure and identify improvements to ensure fast, secure and scalable processing in a cost-efficient manner
- Ensure client environment deployments are in-line with the platform requirements
- Provide technical leadership to the application development team
- Ensure data storage and retrieval is optimised
- Perform design and code reviews
- Ensure that uniform enterprise-wide application design standards are maintained
- Collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure the architecture is aligned with business requirements
- Work with Head of Product Delivery, Lead Software Engineer and other stakeholders to ensure items and tasks are documented in DevOps, prioritised appropriately and assigned into sprints
- Stay up to date on changes in the Insurance industry or technological changes to help maintain distriBind as a cutting-edge platform
- Other activities as required from time to time to support the goals of the company and targets set
Required Experience
- 5+ years in Solution / Application Architecture roles designing enterprise platforms in .NET for deployment in Azure Cloud
- Familiarity with managing Azure Pipelines
- Experience deploying unstructured data in Cosmos for Azure
- Experience deploying global enterprise solutions in Azure
- Experience designing de-coupled .NET solutions using containerised back-end and App Service / browser front-end
- Experience designing parallel processes and use of multi-threading for ingestion of large volumes of data quickly
- Experience Managing client infrastructure deployment or integrations
